Beloved Star The actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at Age 60.
Stateside actor Pat Finn, who appeared in popular television series including Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has passed away aged 60.
The comedic improv actor died at home in LA this Monday following cancer treatment from 2022 onward, according to reports.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives shared in a announcement.
They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.
He also had a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, playing a party host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of hit series, like:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
He was most recognized for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits are "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired many learners over the years and it would be difficult to find a person who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, peer Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared publicly.
Pat Finn is survived by his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his family.
