Emma Raducanu reached the third round in three out of four Grand Slams this year.

Britain's Emma Raducanu has pulled out of her final two events in 2025 because of a health issue that has affected her for the last week and a half.

Raducanu, aged 22 was scheduled to compete in Tokyo and Hong Kong but has decided to fly home to regain her health ahead of launching plans for the 2026 season.

Those preparations are set to feature her coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals have decided to continue collaborating in 2026.

Raducanu had her blood pressure taken while playing the initial match against Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and withdrew when behind 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

She needed once more a visit from the doctor at this week's Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in the opening round.

Her movement was noticeably restricted in the third set versus Zhu because of the lower back problem that has been a concern during parts of the season.

Those results followed a positive campaign, in which the player advanced into the world's top 30 for the first time since her previous ranking, finished with a trio of defeats.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points then was defeated by Jessica Pegula in round three in last month's Beijing event.

Raducanu won twenty-eight matches during 2025 and advanced to the semis in the Washington tournament, but the highlight of her season was at March's Miami Open.

As Britain's top player made the last eight of this WTA 1000 tournament, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed en route then falling in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.

Her coach was Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in ahead of the US Open.

The first plan with Rafael Nadal's former coach was for the remainder of the year but they will keep working together, with a training block pencilled in late this year.

The athlete revealed that a three-day test period with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

She came very close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their initial event as a team in August's Cincinnati tournament.

Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she made the third stage before being beaten by Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
